Belt tension

Does anyone know how to add tension to an e500 base (W211)? I installed a new tensioner pulley assembly and bought a new belt, but the belt is very loose. I can take it off by hand. The tensioner doesn't seem adjustable, and I don't think the alternator is mounted on an adjustable bracket, so I'm at a loss.

Two possibilities:
-You received an incorrect belt. Or,
-you did not remove the lock pin from the tensioner; tensioners are shipped in the "open" position with a lock pin in them that you must remove. Just put a bit of torque on the bolt head, slip the pin out, then release the tensioner onto the belt.

Thanks! I'm sure it's the pin. I had no instructions, but should have figured that ou
