07 E Class Keyless Entry Troubles
Hello Ya'll, I have had an 07 E 350 for a few years. At first all 3 entry door lock/unlock feature worked fine. Only driver front was bad. There was no definitive click inside of handle so I figured it was for sure handle. I replaced with a used one off ebay and it didn't work even though I felt click. Looked like wiring had a short so I ordered a second used. This time it worked perfect for a few months, and then went to lock button working only. After a couple months lock button stopped too. So I am back to using rear handle to open but now it is working intermittently. It beeps everytime when pulled, but doesn't unlock often and lock button does not work either. Strange thing is, if I pull front and rear at the same time, sometimes it will unlock. Both passenger side have not had any issues so I am not sure if it is an antennae problem or not. Key Fob has no problems. Also I noticed the Key Fob has to be practically touching the handle sensor to use the roll up all windows feature when locking. It used to work at a distance. I love this car, but it sure would be nice to correct all the problems like cleaning of the steering wheel sensor, replacing the camshaft magnets, and repairing the back window shade that is always up.

I would never get a used handle, it will just eventually fail like the original ones did. They only seem to be good for a few years. You could just buy one of the handles online. Could be in the $200 range instead of the $300+ at the dealer. I would also replace the battery in the keyfob and keep your phone away from the key fob as that sometimes blocks the signal.

You may have to check the antenna module at the rear door https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-W2...cAAOSwEeFU-c2L as I remembered that someone had fixed this problem by replacing this item.
