New to the MB World

Hello All,

I just purchased my first MBZ 2009 E350 or W211

I lucked out and found a friend that gave me the quick lesson about the MBWorld forum and there is a ton of great data here.

I want to start by doing the standard tune up stuff and skip most of the hard lesson curve if possible.

Go straight to Best parts tried and true.

Engine oil

Tran’s oil

Filters

Service times, oil is 12K and what about the Trans?

This car has 67,500 Miles and seems to be in great condition minus service records, questions like Trans filter and fluid? Trans flush. Do the right thing without killing the Trans by causing any problems.

Same with Oil, Mobil one 0/40 or? Also I am having trouble locating the fill chart, how much oil goes in with filter change?

Thank You All in advance

All suggestions welcome

My first MBZ

2009 E350 or W 211

Engine oil is actually every 10,000, transmission every 40,000/4-years see attachment. Engine oil quantity will depend on method of draining i.e.: vac topside you will want to replace what you took out. No doubt members will follow with their maintenance contributions.

Welcome. The FSS can give you up to 13,000 miles on oil, so check what it says now.
I think you have 1st generation of 7G transmission, who calls for only service at 40k miles. Try to get Master Inquiry to see what was done on the car.
Register on mbusa.com and that will give you manuals if you are missing them.

and How can I go about getting a Master Inquiry ?
MBUSA.com will provide the OE User Manuals or are you talking factory Manuals ?
Thank You for your time and reply.

As Konigstiger said, engine oil is every 10k. MB changed the interval after they first came out and said every 13k. You can get the VMI at the dealer, just ask for a copy of it when scheduling service. They should give it to you when you have the car there. Usually they won't give it over the phone as you can't prove you own the car.

As for the oil, Mobil 1 0w40 is fine, there's actually a $12 rebate on 5 quart jugs with a limit of 4. I believe your car takes 8.5 quarts of oil. Walmart has the 5 quart jug for $22.88. And although Walmart isn't on the list, they always honor the rebate from them.

Are all dealers connected, I have asked for Auto history in the past at several dealers but I have never owned a MBZ.
I have to say this car is growing on me quick.

I do have another question about the front end, It catches on the concrete parking stops, not on the way in but the way out.
I believe the front push pin supports or possibly structural supports might have been compromised.
I will need a lift to give it a good eye grind.
unless somebody has seen this ?

All MB dealers use the same database for service. So any work done at one MB dealer will be available to another MB dealer. The VMI only covers work done at MB dealers. That's how they offer a one year warranty on all parts and labor.

As for your front end, I have no idea what you even mean by catches on parking stops. Front end noises need to be diagnosed on a lift.

Sorry, in parking lots there are concrete parking stops. the front of the car seems to be hanging low, possibly the under plastic covers or the lowest part of the front of the car.
it seems to be sagging a bit as if there are broken push pins.
I need to get it on a lift, but I have seen other cars that have broken body panel cover & supports that have caused the same problem.
thanks for the information, I will check with dealer when i pick the parts i ordered.

Well the only thing holding up the suspension is the springs so if the front end looks like they're sagging, probably weak springs and you mind as well get struts and springs. Too bad there's no quick struts for the car.

Great looking car!!
Couldn't find a 2009 when I was looking.
What's the color called?

Should provide a good decade of service with regular maintenance.
Find an indy or pay the dealership - your time is valuable too.
Engine will break in just after 100k (my 08 hit 105k a month ago).

Flexible Service System. In USA , where oil changes are dictated by lawyers, they force 12 months intervals, when in Europe it is 24 months. Not knowing the mileage since oil change, you might have to change oil now, but I make notes and since we don't drive much in 12 months, I don't hesitate to wait longer period with oil changes.
MI is something dealers can give you, but they hesitate if you don't service car with them and will give you privacy BS.
We did have forum members who could pull it, so ask around.
Did you check mbusa site? They provide user and service manuals for free, but if you need WIS, than you'd have to pay for subscription, or talk to konighstiger.
Good luck with the car.
