Insurance skyrocket for the youngins?

For all the young fortunate E-class owners, how is your insurance as far as prices are concerned? I just kicked off NJM because of points and have enlisted in this other blahzay company but because showing the E-class as my primary vehicle, it's sad to say that it jumped from $1900 to $4900 a year. I have the NJPAIP rate so its the minimum 50/100/50 thousand. Anyone else in a similar boat because it seems I may have to resort to giving up the car and letting my father/mother/brother drive it for the duration of the lease?

Any helpful insurance agents out there with a better deal??

$3,300 per 6 months with 1 speeding ticket (40 in a 25) and 1 stop sign ticket(cleared by traffic school). That's what I'm giving.

Hey, try Selective Insurance, they had a much better rate than most companies.
I would also say NJM - but you have to be employed by a member company.

W211 E320 4Matic
Wow! That is a big bill for insurance. Reference FYI, I am paying $1,218 per year for our E320 4Matic after numerous discounts (primary driver is my wife in her early 40s) which is several hundred less than our pick up truck where I am the primary.

For my 04 E320: $850/year, with Mercury. 50/100/100, with $250 deductable. Funny, since my 98 E320 cost $950/year.

Insurance company explaination ? The 04 has more technology that help reduce accident. Go figure.

You may want to think about reducing the font a little and deselect the bold function, most of us here can see pretty well without assistance!! LOL!

$800/yr Mercury Insurance 2004 E500. Been with them for the past nine years... always seem to have at least one point on my record, and they've paid out all my claims with no issues (and not raising rates).

1999 Mercedes ML430
20 years old, liscense suspended for 60 days for speeding 2 years ago, and one recent ticket for "disreguarding a traffic control device" Luckily ins. is in girlfriends name, but in mine, my 99 ML would be 8800 every six months. THAT'S $17,600.00 EVERY YEAR through GEICO in NY. No BS

2004 E320. NJM costs me about $1100 per year. I haven't given them the safety figures yet.

Sorry to hear about your insurance situation. I know you'll turn every stone over to keep your ride. Good luck.
