Hazard Lights Coming on Randomly

We have an 04 E320 Wagon. Today we went outside and noticed the hazard Lights were flashing, no noise though, just the lights flashing. We turned them off and went back inside. We went out again later and they were on again, still with no noise. We turned them off again. When we went out late to actually use the car we got the message saying Battery Conv. functions temporarily unavailable. We've been having issues with the car holding a charge overnight unless we go out and take it for a drive. The auxiliary battery was replaced last month and we replaced the main battery a few days ago. We had never seen the hazard Lights flashing before today. What could this be? We think we probably have a power leech. Do you think the hazard Lights are the power leech or it's something else?

Most likely your alarm is going off. Being that there is no sound, your siren is probably gone. One of the most common causes of amperage draw. Replace it and retest.

What would cause the alarm to go off?

Two scenarios siren unit internal circuit board is corroded or battery is gone. Common problem, easy enough to confirm see attachments. Compatible replacement part #s to shop used or current 2198203226 new:
