W211 P0016&17 error code pics attached
Hi,
if anyone can give me some advice, I’ve rotated the crankshaft to 305 degrees and have a attached pics of where the logo/text lies within the cam position sensors, although there not dead canter they are both fully visible within the hole, does anybody’s know if this is ok or do they have to be in the exact same position?
yesterday i put in new cam position sensors and magnets, a new crankshaft sensor and a new ignition coil as my car was not started first time when warm, after the installation my car starts without any problems and drive much better but I still have the codes p0016&17.
At 305 desgess
Visible within the hole
And this one is also visible

Oh yeah, check the videos on the youtube. I think you have the balance shaft problem. They're supposed to be centered.

The balance shaft kit itself isn't that expensive, but the expensive part is that you have to remove the engine in order to replace the balance shaft.

Hi , thanks for your reply,
so you think it’s out of position, I was hopeful it wasn’t the case, I’ll keep an eye out for the kit,
have you seen this YouTube video, do you think I can solve the problem this way?
this guy adjusts it without removing the engine.

Well I don't know what you have in England but here's a place that sells the balance shaft kit. I think that video doesn't cover replacing the balance shaft. It's the gears that wear down because they used too soft a metal.
