My E350 4matic and possible bad Steering rack bushings

Hello guys, I have a 08 e350 4matic and i believe my steering rack bushings are bad. They pop when goin over bumps slow or when i turn the wheel all the way to each side. Is there a DIY for this on here? Do anybody have the link or can point me to the right direction?

I am genuinely curious to know more. Can you tell me how you found out it was the steering rack bushing? What exactly do you mean by 'pop'? Because there are other parts of the suspension that can also 'pop' over bumps.

Actually you have good timing because tomorrow i was going to post about thinking it may be the struts. I know now i just got to test it out then test and visually inspect some components. It maybe be more than one problem.

The popping over bumps at slow speed could also be a ball joint. The lower ball joint is usually the one that goes bad first. Also check the rubber bushings in the control arms for cracks/wear.

Ok so when i push down on the front end of the car it makes the noise. I guess bad struts or can something else show the same symptoms? I see a suspension overhaul in my future.

Tracking down a noise is always a problem. I've already done ball joints, outer tie rods, upper control arms, cv joint boots, and sway bar links. There's also lower control arm bushings and sway bar bushings, but those are hard to find as it used to be you had to buy the whole sway bar to get the bushings. It firmed the car up but now I think the noise it's making is the springs/struts.

Is there a DIY section for our W211's?

This is basically the DIY section. Various issues have been covered in old threads.

Ok so i see its my ball joints. I used the search bar on here and found some things. I seen a video with "AMG Meister" and in the vid he had the same sound. So do i just replace the ball joints or get the whole part as one?
