hi there I have a 2006 Mercedes e350 with the factory navigation
I have never updated the maps and was wondering if there is anyway I can update the maps by myself or do I need to buy some software or go to the stealership.
If anyone has a file that I can download and burn that would be great thank you very much for your help
The more recent years require a pin code but 2003-2008 just needed a copy of the DVD to update the maps. I think they stopped coming out with new maps a couple of years ago. There was a link at one point on benzworld.org, but since they redid the site, all the links are broken and the search feature isn't working. But if you do a search you might find it out there somewhere. If you can't find it, you can always either buy it on eBay or pay top dollar at the dealership.
For NTG1, you just need the image to burn so anyone that has the latest should work. For 2009, they went with a newer version of NTG and you need the original to load onto the hard drive. But once it's loaded you don't need the disc anymore.

Which year do you have? I did mine a few years ago. I’m guessing 2015? Wondering if there is anything more current.

I do not follow your question. My cdi is a 2006. I provided that answer to the poster because his location is showing UAE. That is a far place from the US. MB through NavReq does not provide any map updates after 2016.

The attached picture shows the files that are on the disk. You will see that the DB files are from November/December 2014, so the maps could be that old. The DB files are 2GB and 1GB in size. It would be interesting to see if the newer disk has the same file structure and try to replace the DB files and see what happens. This may be a way to update the maps on our 211's.
