Heated Seats w/Ventilation.

I noticed that the manual states that you can use the heated seats with ventilation..

I can turn both on at the same time.. Anyone know why you would do this and does anyone do this?

I personally never did this and would only begin to imagine that this would be done to get the right temperature hitting your body...instead of being tooh ot or too cold...

I did it last night, although the reasoning I use may be suspect... it's like using a blow drier vs. sitting under a heat lamp. The moving air seems to change the temperature more quickly. Could just be a psychological thing.

I guess it's all about having enough options to cover 'different strokes for different folks'. Interesting, isn't it?

I was thinking it is like a blowing heat while the other is direct and constant. I mean, try it and tell me if you notice a difference. Personally the car's A/C gets the car nice and cool and I like to have a warm seat sometimes.. Even when it is boiling out..

It is kinda like a nice warm towel after a hot shower..

Funny in Europe, every hotel room I have ever been in has towel warmers (maybe to dry the dirty one you just used and are going to use over and over - do they ever give you new ones?!).. hehe..

I was under the impression that the ventilated seats (cooling) "drew" air through the seats to wick away perspiration. It sounds like, based on previous descriptions, that the ventilated function (heating) "blows" air through the seats. That would require the fans to reverse direction. Interesting.

It does draw air through. But if you are warming, once any perspiration is dried, then you feel warmer. Or, if the cabin heater is on, it will draw the warm air through.

On the back of my seats I have two slots that look like a grill. Is this the hole for air access for the ventilated seats?

Also, anyone know how many fans are in the back and in the seat?

Speaking of ventilated seats... how are folks keeping them clean? If you're using a leather cleaning product like Lexol, any issues with it getting into the holes or blocking them?

I believe there are six fans per seat and those vents are for the air

I have used Zaino's "Z-10 Leather in a Bottle" with great results. I was thinking there might be a problem with the perforated leather, but the Z-10 is easy to apply and thin enough to spread without blocking the holes.
