E 350 in 2005

Are there any E 350 planned for mid 2005 production. If so is it gonna be the new 3499cc engine (270bhp) as is in the new SLK or the 37XX cc as is in ML 350.

The E350 will most likley have the new 3.5 DOHC 4 valves per cylinder V6, because Mercedes' didn't develop it for use only in the new SLK and it will probably phase out the 3.7 liter eventually. I think that the 3.7 was kind of a "standby" until the new 3.5 was finished developing

Just my opinion...

3.7 is just a big bored version of 3.2 (M112) engine. It will phase out after the M class (163). I believe the new 3.5 V-6 engine (M272) will be replaced throughout the Mercedes range from MY06. :p

I agree the 3.7 will be phased out. However, the new 3.5 in SLK is quicker than SL500; I suppose a new generation of 5.0 will be required as well; just my 2 cents

the new V8 is coming with the new S class.

2006 will be an interesting model year, the E350 may cut into E500 sales, unless the new V8 goes into the S and E at the same time. reviews I have read of the SLK350 have given high marks to the drive train.
