Has anyone dash mounted an ipad mini in their W211
Hello all,
I have a 2006 E320 with comand. The stock nav doesn't work, and the maps might as well be 30 years old at this point anyway. I want to keep the stock sound system/head unit and mount an ipad mini in front of the stock screen for google maps. I am very picky about things like this being solid mounted, so most of the RAM mount options are out. I don't want to mount off the windshield. I'd like to avoid screwing into the upper dash. I've seen setups on less complex dashes with ball-mount arms that mount to the dash with 3M tape, and have a magnet face. With 3-4 of these to make a flat plane an ipad can mount very solid, yet remove very easily too.
I've done a lot of searching and am not finding much in the W211 world like this. Has anyone seen anything? or thought about this before?
Thanks.

Yes, I'm certain the 11" iPad with custom frame could mount over the OEM radio - but where to splice in for speakers and generate enough power? It's a clean install otherwise and the iPad clicks in and out of its custom frame easily. Tunes, maps, GPS and Bluetooth. USB-C connector was not an option in a 2003 MB E500!
