Replacing EIS, what else are all required to be changed?

This is a follow up to my recent post asking about my srs error that my eis and srs module vins are not identical. It doesn't look like I'm able to reprogram my srs nor can I get a new one for under a grand. What if I am able to change the vin in my eis to match the srs or buy the srs module and eis from a donor car? What else is needed other than the ecu, gear shifter and keys that needs to match? I believe that's all up allow the car to start, but I'm seeing quite a few other modules that are vin specific. I'll hate to have other issues if I went this route.

Fyi, I got this car, 2004 e500 at an auction. Thought I'd gamble on it. It drives perfectly and is clean, but I need to pass a salvage inspection and the srs light will automatically fail the inspection. I don't want to spend the $1,300+ on such an old car. I have a couple people who wants it as a parts car and I rather give it to them and take the money spent so far as a loss. As I write this, am I able to reprogram the vin in the shifter, key and ecu? I've only seen it domdone for the eis before.

Thanks!

Edit- I'm also unable to access the battery control module, I can get used ones easily. I have an iCarsoft MB II btw. This is how I'm able to check the codes. I'm also unable to clear the srs stored codes.
