Foxwell NT624 Scanner

I'm in the market for a good scanner now that need something more than the basics to deal with my overly optimistic fuel gauge that has been stuck on full for the past ~200 miles. Seen lots of posts about the Foxwell NT624 and was leaning that direction instead of the icarsoft offering. However, I've noticed that there are 2 versions of the NT624, the "Elite" ( https://www.foxwelltech.us/product-detail-606.html ) and the "Pro" ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/Foxwell-NT6...8AAOSwL2hdjtNX )

Anyone have any preference of one over the other?

What is the reason you are looking at those scanners?
You will find several scanners topics, some forums even have separate scanners section and it is a headache to make right choice.
Most recommended lately are iCarsoft MBII or Autel MD806, but you always will be in position when 1 of the scanners have good programs for engine work, the other better for transmission, so unless you buy SD, you will be split on applications.
Those are MB oriented scanners who will read brand-specific codes. No experience with Foxwell.
Than the only scanners manufacturer who list supported modules is MaxiEcu.

The wife and I both have Benz's. My E500 and her GLK350 and I've gotten to the point where the Bluetooth OBD2 dongle and Torque just aren't cutting it with the Evap leaks and obstinate fuel gauge and all of the other things that are going to break at some point. People here had good things to say about the Foxwell NT624 but I was just trying to figure out which NT624 they were talking about since there appear to be 2 versions.

Now more and more MB-oriented scanners hit the market, so you have more choices.
When I was on MB scanner market couple years ago, I took advantage of Amazon hassle-free returns and ordered 2 scanners.
Kept the 1 that work better for me and returned the other one.
I would vote for scanner section on the forum, but never was impressed with adm work in the past, so don't hold my breath.

From what I have read in the questions answered by the vendors on Amazon, it appears that the Elite is functionally similar to the Pro, but has a faster processor and what they consider a more ergonomic package.

I personally use the NT624 Pro. Been quite happy with its functions. It's certainly not even close to STAR, but it happily reads all codes & can deactivate the SBC system (the reason I got it).
