So i found this dummy Engine Start Stop button for my E63 just for the looks from ebay, i know it will not start the car. My Question is, is it safe to leave this dummy button in ignition? it fits perfectly! and looks fantastic!
few things i noticed when i inserted this button in the ignition,
- when i tried to lock the car with the keyfob, there is a delay in locking the car,
- when i try to open the door, (i have key less go) again there is a delay in unlocking
- when i try to lock the car by pressing the black button on the door handle , again there is a delay in locking the car
All the above happened when i left the dummy key fob in the ignition
when i took it out, the car locked un locked instantaneously with out any delay.
will leaving this in my car have any adverse affect ? I have a start stop button my my gear shifter which i use 100% of the times, i do not use the key to start the car by putting it in the ignition.
