Front Camber Adjustment.
Dealer wanted $900 to install Mercedes adjustable camber kit for the front when I brought it in yesterday for alignment. I'll install it myself and then bring it back for the alignment, does anyone happen to know the part number for the kit? The service writer of course wouldn't let me know. thank you in advance.

$900??? When I did it, it was a $15 bolt at the dealer that gave you camber adjustment. And the same bolt on the front strut gave you caster adjustment.
However, it doesn't give you much adjustment. Maybe a half degree or so.

Peter

$600 to "install" the camber bolts, then $300 for the alignment, you know the dealers, it's all pure profit. I'll just install them myself and then get alignment, thanks again gentlemen for the part number, ordered on Ebay for $17 each.

The "adjustable" bolts (available front only) are in fact inaccurate "one offset position" bolts. Providing a minimal 0.3 of one degree (1/8") Camber / Caster change!
We saw the need therefore to re-instate from the early 90's once again front and rear "full, precise adjustment".
Single wrench, accurately - under load, direct on alignment rack PROVIDING "5 TIMES THE ADJUSTMENT RANGE. TO FIX IT RIGHT THE 1ST TIME!
Today's autos because of cost cutting and ever increasing speed of assembly lines only provide front and rear Toe "directional" adjustment. No Camber or Caster allowing to adjust tire contact angles - spread load more evenly to prevent costly, premature tire replacement.
KMAC CATALOG lists all the adjuster kits and performance bushings available "Street" day to day commuting through to the "pursuit of front row of the grid" lap times on track days.
For the W211 front (quick fit option) is #502216-2 J $380.
This kit simply replaces the 4 upper arm inner bushings. Can be fitted without arm removal (bush extraction tool supplied). Provides up to 1.5 degrees precise Positive or Negative Camber and Caster adjustment.
Rear kit suggestion is #502526 K $480
This kit also provides up to 1.5 degrees Positive / Negative Camber adjustment. Replacing the lower arm inner bushings. Also can be fitted without arm removal (bush extraction tool supplied). Precise single wrench adjustment. Kit also includes extra rear Toe adjustment nexessary to compensate for the new rear Camber facility.
