E320 Wagon Car seat

Any rear-facing child seat is going to restrict the seat in front of it from moving back very far. We had an Evenflo rear-facing infant seat in two of our cars, and in the BMW 5-series, it did restrict the driver's seat considerably. The front-facing seat, which of course, you can't use for a new-born, is not nearly as restrictive. Assuming your older child is old enough to face forward, I would put that seat behind the driver, and the infant seat behind the front passenger seat. This will restrict the passenger seat travel, but at least your wife will be able to drive the wagon. After your baby is over 1 year and over 20lbs, you can switch to a front-facing seat and you won't have this problem anymore.
You can move the right front seat forward and leave infant seat behind -- on the right rear side.
