2004 E500 AMG
WHY does a E55 ride lower than an e500 (amg) and
is there any way to match it via OEM parts (as opposed to the bracket trick)?
secondly, if you don't want to add spacers or move the rear sensor, is the module the most "clean" way to perform the mod (so not to have to drill into the rear)?
anyone here in los angeles do it themselves?
the service guy at a local dealership tried to tell me that the e55 rides lower because of the wheels/tires versus that of a e500 with the AMG option. i don't think so!! they're the same wheel/tire config.....
thanks!

Yeah I would like to lower mine too..
Do you guys think lowering it by computer (which is how the E55 is probably lowered) has any impact on the comfort setting?
I do hear some of the E55'ers complain that the Comfort mode is not really a Comfortable mode..

Not sure about the E55, and/or lowered by computer, but my ride quality is the exact same in all modes.
The biggest problem in computer lowering is finding a dealership to do it. I'm sure there are some.
Regarding the tire/wheel option, the e55 actually has the double spoke AMG's, while the AMG option has the 5 spoke AMG's. However, I still think that dealership's answer is BS!

KLEEMANN actually makes a suspension module which supposedly stiffens the diaphragm of the AIRMATIC shocks, combined with the lowering module or the lowering through Star-Diagnose should give you comparable ride performance. However, be warned that you would lose the comfort of the E500. I'm also considering going this route with my E500 once I get it.
