Door mirror indicator fault
Hi all. Yes I know this is an age old issue, but I have a question I cant find an answer to on line. Please forgive me if I'm in the wrong place or anything else, but I'm a newbie and I'll happily stand corrected if necessary!
My 2005 W211 220CDI has the usual door mirror/indicator wiring problem. Found all of the broken wires and completely rewired both mirrors with AWG 20 (0.5mm) silicon wire. The only problem I have is that on the passenger side 2 of the wires broken are black I have joined the two I can identify for the indicator and the one that goes to the adjusting motor (along with the grey and the white) but I dont know which way round the two broken wires go when I connect back up to the car as I cant find a reliable or relevant wiring diagram on line. At the plug/socket end in the mirror the broken wires are numbered 1 and 4 and there are no other identifying marks until you get to the indicator unit itself where they are also (funnily enough) identified as one and 4. I obviously have a 50:50 chance of connecting them up correctly, but does anyone know of the consequences of getting them wrong. I marked each cable as I cut them at the door, but clearly and broken wires in the mirror mean my marking up means nothing for those two cables. Any help gratefully received!
