Actually, yes I would laugh at him too. Cause like i said, it has nothing to do with money, but has to do with what teh car REALLY is. SL600 is a fast car..no need for an amg badge. I laugh bc of the wack mentality that person most likely has, for thinking the SL600 , and teh V12 badge on the side wasnt enough. And as I mentioned more than once, you can do what you want...I was just saying how I view it. You make the changes to the car for yourself..bc of your taste...and not to impress someone else. I see adding the badge to a car that isnt an AMG as doing it for other people to see.

You have a point on the brabus and renntech badging...thats why I actually like Dinan's system where you have to EARN it by way of a point system.

Ive said it before, nothing wrong with the AMG badge in the back just as long as you dont try to put E55. Same thing with Brabus, ive seen so many cars here with the class "E240" and then on the other side it says "BRABUS" how gay is that? but its not posing since its just the brabus parts, now when you see BRABUS and then 6.1 and its not a real 6.1 then thats going overboard.

As an E55 owner, I have no problem with the way you did it. Now, if you removed the E500 badge and replaced it with E55, that would be a different story.

I think it looks a heck of a lot better than if you had added Don Juan Demarco!

Obviously - it's your car. Do whatever you want.

Personally - if I saw an SL600 with "AMG" badging I'd chuckle to myself and think "that guy has more money than taste".

My brother has an SL500 Sport which has the AMG body parts - but he'd never even consider putting on AMG badges.

The funny thing to me is that the average person on the street has no idea what "AMG" means. They might think it's your initials or something.

Car enthusiasts would know that your car isn't an AMG E55 just by looking.

Looks good, I agree with what most people say. I hate when people badge cars the wrong way, like puting an M badge on a 4 door 323i.. or AMG on a stripped E320, etc. But since you have AMG kit, and at least a V8, maybe so. I'd rather have a shaved @ss.

I have to agree that I am not a fan of rebadging (or even debadging) your car. Changing your litre version is just not cool. Any mercedes car fan would be able to tell anyway. Like i saw this guy in a CL the other day with CL55 AMG on the back of his car with single pipes and the Mercedes calipers.

I'm not trying to fool anyone. I just like the fact that I have an AMG Sport Package and felt like letting everyone know it. The E500 will remain. Thats going no where. My car is no slouch. I am very proud of the fact that my first benz is a E500. Couldnt have planned it any better. i'm still giddy as a little kid. In fact I have to force myself not to smile when I'm in tarffic. Man you guys couldnt tell me this is what I have been missing.
