Notice what looks like an iDrive knob on the console. The rest of the dash looks like a BMW knock off. As does the trunk lid.

Is MB saying the 745 was ahead of its time?

S, GL, Escalade ESV, my shoes
Look like Mercedes doesn't want the award for "ugliest interior" to go to BMW. Sure they will get that prestigious trophy back w/ the new S interior design.

The body doesn't fair any better: trunk lid is also copy from that horendous 745.

Audio is the only player now that knows how to build large & luxury sedan.

i dont know if bmw has the 4 buttons on each side like MB's, but that wheel does have the 4 buttons, you can see them on the right hand side only though.

I think the pictures is at least one year old. Yes, I can see some similarity, but not actual copying

I don't like Bangle's design but it seems his design (raised butt -- 7er) is accepted by

1. maybach

2. w221 -- next version of S

and

3. next version of Lexus LS

obviously, Mr. Bangle is a winner. All top luxurious cars follows his design.

Now we know where Bangle got his idea from!!!

Also, I though Lexus just introduced a revised LS430 for '04. There is another revision for '06?

The car illustrated is a Toyota Crown Majesta, an upscale model that Toyota presently does not export to North America. Whether they might in the future, and whether it would be the next iteration of the Lexus LS, is a matter of speculation on the discussion boards concerned with that sort of thing.

Is the '73 510 still box shaped like a BMW 1600?

DWP is right. this is a Toyota Crown Majesta -- highly possible to be the next North America Lexus LS.

Some of the features:

- 4.3L V8
- 6 speed automatic transmission
- VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management)
- Full time 4WD
- AVS (Adaptive Variable Suspension System)
- 4 wheel ventilated disc brakes
- Hill Start Assist Control
- LKA (Lane Keep Assist) Beeps when you're too close to the sides of your lane (ala 2005 M45)
- Radar Cruise Control w/ World's first application in low-speed situations; Can come to a full stop at predetermined distance
- Intelligent AFS (Adaptive Front-Lighting system)
- NightView (ala Caddy and LX470)
- Standard knee airbags for both driver and passenger, along with dual SRS, side, and side curtain airbags

I cheated - I was able to read "Majesta" in the rear license plate holder and just Googled the rest.

How about the covered up star symbol on the steering wheel and the seat adjustment controls on the door panel.

If its covered up how do you see it. I cant see a star. Door buttons for the seats is not a new thing or limited to Mercedes.

While I can't see the symbol either, what I can see is the basic design of the wheel, which if you look at the pictures of the next generation ML, it has the same basic design.

I find it hard to believe that the first pic is a MB. It looks more like a restyled 7-series. It makes sense to me that it could be a restyled 7 series because:
- Seat controls on door is more accessible than the seat controls on the side of the center console where it currently is on the 7.
- Multiple control buttons below the NAV screen to act as 'hotkeys' instead of relying on the I-drive to do everything. Owners want fast easy access and not have to read a 1000pg manual trying to change a radio channel.
- A/c vents look very BMW-ish
- Hotbuttons on the steering wheel is very BMW-ish, even the graphics on the buttons.

You know what you could be right about this

The steering column controls look just like the 7's and the door *** looks like it too

bmw is coming out with a re-worked 7 in 05 i think that just may be the int.
