Star Diagnosit - Chicago Area
low miles 2004 E500 Wagon; I look forward to a labor of love here but would really like to get a diagnostic run even before I take it in for repairs. I am happy to pay for the assistance and don't object to going to a smaller shop. Had hoped to make some progress on this by now and thought I would make a couple of posts to see if anyone would be interested in helping before I "throw in the towel" and turn it over to professional assistance.

What's the problem with it? You can buy your own scanner for as little as $50 these days that will read all MB specific codes.

Thank you
Thank you for the gracious and fast response. My middle name should be "overkill." The immediate problem is with the airmatic system. Passenger front strut isn't dropping fully when the car is off and struggles to stay up while driving. I suspect a strut leak but thought it would be fun to see if the star system can walk the through a diagnostic and confirm whether it's the strut itself or maybe a line to the strut from the manifold/compressor area. A simple code scan makes sense and I'll either buy one or find one on my street. Thank you again! Very nice to get the product link as well!

My guess is that for that type of problem a scan isn't going to help you that much, usually finding a leak requires more hands on diagnostic than having star tell you what's wrong.
