If it doesn't work out I will trade it up for a C55 in 2005

I spoke to the Mercedes Service manager and they will put it through the 130 Point Inspection that pre-owns get for Starmark certification. Its about 2-2.5 hours of labor I was told and the Honda dealership is paying for it. If it does not comeback perfect and "starmarkable" as if it were sold by a mercedes dealer as a Certified Pre-owned I will walk, and the Honda dealership agreed to plat by those rules.

It sounds to me like the car will pass. My wife hit a deer in '02 in her BMW. The deer continued on her way (in to the next lane where it was hit by a van with worse results to both).
The car had $3500. It adds up quickly. Hood, bumper, grill, lights, paint and labor. Done right it is as good, possibly even better, than new.

The problems would be all under warranty and the MB network of dealerships and their database show zero service records except for the bodywork done by Mercedess and their certified bodyshop. I also found out this car was bought in May in Montana and was driven aprox. 3000 miles to Florida. So of the 3500 miles, 3000 were driven pretty consistently over lets say a week or week and a half period. If there were niggling problems Mercedes Benz would have a record of those services issues. Just my two cents, I am not trying to make my decision feel better, but just rebutting the naysayers. The inspection report will be the true lithmus test here.
