LOL - How far will MB's cross-platform, component sharing strategy go? Well, I received correspondence on MB letterhead - in an envelope marked with the Dodge logo. Maybe this is subliminal marketing?

Whoa, that's pretty cool.
I had a pretty bad dealer experience with a Dodge I owned before I standardized on Mercedes... their current crop of cars, with engineering I appreciate, and price points that are hard to ignore, are really starting to sway me. The technologies they are using in Dodge/Chrysler cars are really familiar to me having worked on Mercedes cars... if I can just swap the ugly steering wheels...

Dodge dealers have a way to go yet. I recently went to test drive a Dakota, and the kid that was working the lot greeted me with" What`s up boss?" Real professional. I think that " Welcome to (insert name of dealership here), sir, how may I help you?" is more like it. I drove the truck, grabbed the brochure and crossed that store off the list.

They can call me whatever they want, as long as they've got the best price in the showroom & great service personnel...but you are right, there ARE dealerships that I get the vibe from that you can "shop" there but would never be able to nail down a good deal at.
It's just hard to tell which is which.

I got that vibe there. You start with the 20 yr old greeter and if they think you`re at all serious you`ll get handed off to the high pressure guy.Seemed like the kind of place where they "lose" the keys to your trade in.
