Question E350 Wagon - BOOM-ing / drumming noise over bad pavement/bumps

Hi there,

I have a 2009 e-350 wagon with 55k miles. The car makes boom-ing noise when I drive it over bad pavement/bumps. The boom-ing or drumming noise causes pressure on ear drums. I would say it is like a bass sound that is set to the max.
I have read some old posts about "a dead man in the trunk." But, I am not sure what a dead man in the trunk sounds like over bumps lol. The one in my car makes a drumming noise that can be quite fatiguing. I am quite sure the noise comes from the rear of the car.

Does anybody have the same problem? Any fix for this?

Thank you

Check the rear shock absorber, in addition to the rear air spring as mentioned by Konigstiger.
