Compressor filter route

I’ve got on 03 e500 with Airmatic issues. I’ve found a hose disconnected. THe filter hose is connected at the pump but I cannot for the life of me find where the other end attaches. Please help I know it’s supposed to be under the coolant reservoir attached to the frame but I can’t locate.

The inlet end of the hose on the inlet side of the filter just hangs loose.

I know this is an old thread but hoping you can help. Im changing this out but in doing so i by mistake removed the whole assembly meaning the filter, the bottom hose AND THE TOP HOSE. My problem is that I cant figure out where the top hose connects too.
Are you saying that the top end of the upper hose (the side not connected to the filter) just hangs loose? Any help appreciated.

I was looking parts for my car, and came across that pre-filter hose. There's a plastic rectangular part that attaches to the framerail I believe. I too managed to pull the hose off, and I just jammed it to close proximity where I think it supose to be. Going to fix that, just got a new hose between the filter and compressor so replacing that is in near future. Though I need to order the rubber bracket that holds the filter, mine is all torn apart.
