Residual Glue

When I peeled off the warning stickers on the visor it did not come off cleanly. Does anyone have any ideas of how to get the rest of the glue and the sticker off? Would warm water work?

Would this be ok to use on the fabric that covers the visor?

On a somewhat related subject: I've got the Stone interior. When I got the car I could see that the unprotected fabric on the sun visors would get grimy sooner or later, probably sooner, from our fingers. M-B didn't provide any hard surface for gripping the visors; same brilliant thinking that led them to carpet the left footrest and part of the door sill. Anyway, I cut two strips of clear plastic about 3" wide, and long enough to wrap around each visor. I used clear tape to fasten the ends together at the front after passing the strips over the visors. It's not a very elegant solution, but at least we can grip the visor by the plastic instead of by the fuzzy fabric. Has anyone come up with a more attractive form of protective "grip" for the sun visors?

How about an elastic fabric armband or headband? You should be able to find one in a compatible color.

Use naptha, a solvent that will remove glue/dried adhesives from cloth, vinyl, wood, even paper, without damaging the underlying material. It's available in paint stores or in small quantities at the grocery stores sold as "Energine" fabric cleaner.

Goo Gone is great for non-pourous surfaces but not on absorbent materials, like cloth. It's oil based and will stain.
