How do i check my transmission fluid?

Mine's a 2004 E320 W211.
I bought a dipstick off eBay. It works fine. You have to locate the tube at the rear of the engine, it's on the left-center of the rear of the engine. The tube was capped, it removed the cap and the eBay dipstick fits right in. Take a bit of wiggling, but it seems to provide an accurate reading.
Perhaps do an eBay search for your specific model and year, that's what i did.

The 722.9 (7G-Tronic) transmission doesn't have a dipstick/fill tube. The fluid level is checked from under the car, the car has to be level and the transmission at 45 degrees Celsius. There is a riser pipe attached to the drain plug opening in the pan that will allow a small amount of fluid to overflow, letting you know it's at the correct level. When new fluid is added, it's pumped in through the drain plug and riser pipe as well.
