ESP/ABS Lights on Dash

ESP/ABS Lights on Dash

I have a problem where both the ESP and ABS lights activated on my dash. Took the car to two separate repair shops; MB dealership and another MB shop. Both advised the ABS control unit needs to be replaced.
There was a little bit of confusion surrounding whether or not the ESP and ABS control modules are the same unit in my car. So, can anyone verify?
New part + install from dealer is about $3500.00. Other shop advised the module could be rebuilt/refurbished but their vendor for getting that done had somehow gone out of business. Does anyone know a reliable, professional shop that can rebuild/refurbish these modules at a fair price?
