On my 2004 E500 the gas pedal is very hard at the start. Have to push hard , but gingerly, to get a smooth start. Hitting it hard causes a small burnout. Anybody experience this and know a solution?

Easy job to remove the accelerator pedal assembly and see what's up. Might be as easy as the carpet is jammed in somewhere.
