Sirius XM Issue 2006 CDI

Over the last several weeks about same the time I renewed my Subscription my NTG1 It started Displaying the message “updating channel list” this message displays for about 15 to 20 seconds usually. Almost simultaneously, when the message displays, my audio will mute for about 3 seconds. While the message is displayed you cannot change the channel. The message pops up about every two minutes sometimes shorter sometimes longer it’s quite annoying because it also mutes the audio repeatedly. But If the radio was muted by the button, it will unmute when the message pops up. Sirius XM Tech tells me that I will have to go to the dealer to have have them do some initialization to fix the problem, As they can’t do anything remotely other than send a refresh signal which doesn’t solve the problem.
Has anybody else encountered this problem?

Seems like I vaguely remember something about SXM having more channels and older Benz receivers having trouble with that. Hence going to the dealer to maybe upgrade the software? Not sure... Great answer, right? I bet a search of your issue will reveal something better than what I'm delivering.

As suggested request SIRIUS enter your EIN into a "protected tier" in their computer system so that when they tell their system to send all channels, radio (head unit) does not lock up attempting to accept more channels then it is designed to hold. Not sure if contact info is current (dates back to 2019) but in case customer support stonewalls:

Yes and also if you're not running 28/08 I'd suggest updating your COMAND software.

I had it in the other thread you posted in but I'll copy it here too. Please read in the PDF about the AGW software since you have an older NTG software version. Here is 29/08 (though I think it shows as 28/08 when you do a version check on the COMAND after you perform the update). Here is the information on it: PDF The PDF contains information on how to perform the update. Here is the update itself that will need to be burned on a CD. ISO
