sorry to tell you that the rental service is not (yet) made for these small jobs
I am willing to help you as non-member but you will have to pay rental ($150) + 2 hours time ($350)
you might consider becoming a member and get this for free (repairs are free for members)

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Seems a worthwhile investment in yourself.

This kind of answer makes me wonder about your background in automotive mechanics, and/or computer technology. I have never used BenzNinja's services, but there is no such thing as a small job on these vehicles. There is always a hidden issue, another DTC, etc that will show up during the first scan. Once the real troubleshooting starts 2hr is the minimum time you spent on the vehicle. Only connecting to the system, waiting for it to boot, scan, delete previous codes, rescan, check the vehicle is CLEAN before coding, then coding. Internet connection must be stable, nothing can fail during the process or it is a restart. Then retest the car is OK and no side-effects.Have you done this kind of work before? Do you have the hardware to do it? Know how to use the hardware consistently not to make a mistake that bricks your car (big paperweight)? The downtime cost of your car sitting outside, and you not enjoying it. The $$$ clock is counting as you wait to make your decision.
You painted yourself into a corner by going to a hack mechanic already, and you have been exposed to the real cost of these repairs (stealership will do it if you buy the module again from them). Say you try to buy the system and learn how to use it (barring mistakes) and multiply for your hourly rate: yearly salary/2000 and you will realize BenzNinja knowledge (based on his reputation in the forum) will be a bargain. At best, you will come even (take this I am giving you a lot of credit to learn the process)
You will find a lot of forum members will help you along. Hope you get your car back in the road,

Oh and also this particular part is supposed to be one of the theft protection parts that you’re not allowed to buy unless you have all these certifications or whatever and the dealership sold it to me without a question asked. There is so much conflicting and confusing information out there that it’s maddening.

If you think the 3 steps are easy, ask the mechanic who installed it why he could not do it right the first time around when a YouTuber could do it, child's play. Instead, he was giving you the runaround.

Sure. Agree, but the dealer knew that from the start, and likely knew there was a large probability you will come back anyways. Hope they do not charge you too much.

this was a great experience. But it wasn’t easy when we enable it for the first time the problem was that I had some kind of misalignment on the ILS and he was going through the code and redoing it over and over again he didn’t give up.
Then he found a discrepancy in my headlight firmware, that lead him to believe that the headlight has been replaced without any record of it, and someone messed up the headlight replacement.
I went to Mercedes and complained about the headlight and what they told me is that it was physically set wrong so they adjusted the headlight and suddenly the ILS works as expected.
That just tells me that he is really a specialist and he’s able to look into the guts of the software find bugs, and he is a tinkerer
that doesn’t give up.
I took a little video to show you guys how it works:

Sounds very very strange in my ears.

Peter replies FAST, I mean under 24 hours and usually much sooner like under 4 hours ( depending on our timezone ) and he is always busy doing other people's car too.

I agree these types of posts must be reported; however, let the moderators pass judgment and sentence on their own.
Sounds like there's a communication breakdown which can easily be corrected. Be patient and work it out it's worth it.
