CLS63 Cluster Swap Without Reprogramming

I want to do a CLS63 Cluster Swap, and don't want to go through the reprogramming process, finding someone with a mileage tool, Star, etc. I found one cluster for sale that has 500 more miles than my car.

Can I buy it, wait until I drive 500 more miles, and do the swap without issue?

You must program your car's Vin into the replacement cluster or the mileage will just show a row of bars. That is to prevent an unscrupulous person from swapping in a lower mileage cluster into a high mileage car. So, you have an excellent idea, but it's not going to work.

Thanks, I may just do the PCB swap method then. I understand I won't gain the features of the 63 cluster that way, but at least it'll replace my cluster with the dark spots in the luminescent backlight
