2004 and 2005 US spec W211 comands DO NOT HAVE THE HARDWARE TO DECODE VIDEO SIGNALS ON DVD...I have sacrificed 2 US spec W211 comands in order to get it to play DVDs and it doesnot...once taken apart and after having some components reprogrammed the US spec comand is able to recognise and play DVDs but there is no screen display other then vertical lines...NO PICTURE AT ALL!!!

The only US spec comands that ARE able to play DVDs are the ones used in the first couple of (replacements) 211s...and the rest CANNOT play DVDs no matter how often you change settings with 3-5-7 and no matter how long you park it to reboot...

One would think that this would be pretty obvious by now. So, the real question now is, can US decoder-less COMAND accept a TV tuner? Personally, I could care less about playing DVD's. But, I would love to be able to watch the games.

Ummm, I'm confused. So, I can't get anything on here but the AMG logo, by changing the system. Changing to the 211 ECE mode will at least give me TV tuner capabilities? Or is it just a worthless setting and I should go back to 211 US? Also, is everyone sure that the 211 AMG "Model" has all the same features (other than start up logo)?

I was playin around for the AMG screen and i disabled burnt disc playback or maybe my disc just went bad (god knows how cuz i didnt even see a secret screen pop up) Then im playin around and i do MUTE-1-3 and i get into a service screen?

Could it be that my program for burning messed up? I heard the reader is very sensitive.....
