Got into secret menu on 2004 BUT....
Hey guys it was tricky but I actually was able to get into the secret menu on my 2004, changed it to AMG 211 (shows AMG logo at startup) but now I can't seem to access the secret menu again...tried 3-5-7 but no go?
Maybe its press 3 first, then 5, then 7, and hold down all at once or is it hold ALL 3 buttons down at the same time?

Was playing around with it today and finally got it to work on my '04. Try this....Press the buttons in this sequence (not all at once)....Press "5" then "3" then "7". While pressing these buttons....leave them down. When I finally got in....I selected the 211 US and also the 211 ECE but when I got out of the menu....it switched back to 211 USA. Before I turned off the car, I apparently left it on 211 AMG US and when I started up the car right now....the AMG LOGO showed (like yours). Apparently on some units, you need to turn it off for a short time before it will reboot to the settings you designated (per levind post). I now set it to 211 US and 211 ECE and going to start it up in an hour and see if it plays DVD.

tried it today and got right into "secret menu".....i switched it as stated, shut er down for 15 minutes and restarted car. dvd installed, and .........cd error was all i got! next i shut it down again and couldnt get back into secret menu.
others have stated that voice changed on nav system, but not here. in addition, cd error has popped up 2x on screen today and i wasnt even listening, nor was one installed.............oh well , mine is a 2004 with late feb build date...............will try again

Same for me. I was able to get in again, and saw that it was already on ECE from the last time that I changed it, but none of the changes as expected, and that was after having the car off for many hours.
I even went ahead and pulled the fuses for the COMAND and good ole fuse 6 for good measure, hoping that it would force it reset itself, but no dice. Mine is an early build 04, so I was hoping that I might have squeeked in with the last remaining units.
Never have I actually wanted the head unit to break so much more than now, so that they would have to replace it with an 05.

I tired it, worked. "5,3,7". However, I was only able to change the keyboard to ECE, as only US selsectins were avaiable for model 
So I selected AMG for the hell of it. I wonder if I get an update if it will allow me to get ECE for the model also. They replaced my entire COMAND system a few months ago, maybe its a different version.

They replaced my entire COMAND system a few months ago, maybe its a different version.Hey, if you update your software, it probably wont work because compared to an 04 and 03, the 04's are more updated. so in this case, he less updated, which are 03 with no updates suppoesedly have the option to play video. thats what it seems like. GL though

prolly not, because i think 04, and 05 are the same. i think you can order a euro command and get rds with that. GL with it.

I can get into the menu anytime now. Thats the great part so far. I converted it to W211_US and w211_ECE for the kayboard and shut it down for a couple of minutes and went back into the menu. It was still at those settings but the DVD didn't work. Got the CD error again and again. I'm going to leave it over night and let the settings marinate and hopefuly 2moro, I'll have better results.
For those who have gotten the DVD player to work, USA reponses only, have you guys tried burned DVDs?
