Will change of stock exhaust to amg change sound of it?
Hi please, i am looking for some decent upgrade of exahust for my E500 5,5l V8 facelift 285kw. Now i have silent exhaust without any tips (hidden before bumper) on end and i have offer to buy AMG exhaust from E500 5,0l V8 no facelift 225kw. Will there be any difference in sound? I want only decent upgrade, to define sound of engine no popping or roar
The E500 never came with a quad-tipped exhaust from factory. That is most likely from an E55, but it could also be C63 or E63. Check the part number and cross reference to see which one it is.
This topic has been beat to death on the forums, but the E55 exhaust will be deeper in idle tone, but not louder unless WOT. The E63 exhaust has a lot more sound and will be quite a bit louder than your current setup. The CLS55/63 mufflers (slightly different shape so I do not think these are CLS) are a tad louder than the E55 and E63 respectively, and the C63 is the loudest of all, for some even too loud, but it is not significantly louder than the E63 or CLS63, so that for me does not justify the price difference.
