Vibration issues
Hello everyone ! Just purchased a used E350/W211 . 130k miles . I’ve got a vibration issue when the car is in parked or when I reach about 70 Mphs . Ideas on what could it be? I’ve read it could be the transmission all the way to the tires. Just want to say I need to get a Maintenance C done and could use recommendation to a garage in Hudson county NJ . Thanks in advance!!

Is your vehicle a RWD, or a 4Matic?
The issue could be engine mounts (2), or tranny mount (1), or front drive axle (4Matic) if you can feel it when parked (P). Does it vibrate when in (D), but with brakes on?
Vibration at 70MPH, is it on the steering wheel only? or everywhere? Steering wheel only would be more like unbalanced tires (simplest), or front-drive axles (4Matic only) ,
If the vibration is everywhere the advice is to address it as soon as possible since it can be the driveshaft from the transmission to the rear end and if that one goes, you will be facing major damage to the undercarriage. Since you/mechanic will have the car on the lift, check for flex-disc (front and back), all of the U-Joints. If yours is a 4Matic, be careful with the front-drive shaft (not axle) U-Joint. If that one goes it can break the transmission casing and a few other parts down there.
Hope that helps

You may want to check out this thread of mine from a while back. What you describe sounds similar to my experience.

Had forgotten that thread.. Did you resolve that issue? Did you have to cave for a full drive shaft?
