s211 tailgate switch door panel

Hi all,
I´ve retrofitted the automatic tailgate, but I´m struggeling finding info on how to wire the driver door panel switch. I was surprised to find that the tailgate button wires are inserted into the existing harness. Is it the same for the front switch? Or is there a dedicated connector on the door panel control unit?
If so can someone tell me the part number? The switch has a 4 wire connector, so those 4 wires need to go somewhere

You shouldn't have to wire anything up for the switch. Just buy the correct trunk opener switch. Unplug the small harness on the switch, then put the new one in and plug it in. Super easy. Hardest/longest part is removing the door panel to get to the trunk switch.

When I did the tailgate retro fit everything was 100% plug and play. Then I just coded the car and everything works. Very easy mod to do minus taking the back seat deck lid out.

Sorry for the thread bump, but I'm also looking for some info on the tailgate switch in the driver's door and this thread was the top search result.
I also have a retrofitted hydraulic tailgate on my S211. The set came without the switch for the driver's door. And although it works (just using the handle and button on the tailgate itself to open c.q. close), it would be nice to add the button in the driver's door as well. They are not that expensive, and AFAIK are easy to plug in to the door control module.

However, all info I can find is about swapping an existing button -- my car doesn't have a button there in the first place. I'm wondering how to physically install the button in the door/speaker cover. I didn't pull off the cover yet; hoping to find some info before I start the job (and then do it in one go).
The cover in my car seems (from the outside) to be blind. On videos about the swapping of buttons, I see that there is not just a hole but a mounting bracket on the inside of the panel. Can the hole be "pushed out" with the cover removed and is the switch bracket always there? Or is the speaker/door cover with the switch mounting (and the hole) a separate part? If so, does someone have a part number?

I have a 2004 S211 and rarely use the door switch as you have to hold it down to operate the tailgate. (I am aware it is a feature.) Have you added the option on your key for opening?
