My car started making a sort of light scraping noise yesterday, so I got under the car and I can see a leak comming from what I think is the transfer case. It seems like it is comming from the seal where the axle to the front wheels comes out.
I cant hear anything from the outside when driving but I can clearly hear it on the inside. I may have been a bit too quick on going from reverse to drive, I dont know if that has anything to do with it. The noise increases in frequency when I acelerate
Could it be anything else? If it is the transfercase, it is expensive to repair? Can I do it myself?
