Happy Holidays. Have a 2008 E350 4MATIC with sports package. Has anyone experienced loss of oil after 3500 miles? This is a constant issue for me. I have to add 2 quartz of Oil every 3500 miles.

 

That seems excessive. What mileage?

 

I'm having the same issue with my 2009 e350 4matic wagon only not as bad. Oil light went on at around 8500 post oil change the last 2 times. Had to add 1-2 qts. I started a thread on this recently which helped and may be of helpb to you. Here it is:

Thank you for the responses. The mileage is 170K, but I started experiencing oil loss started around 70K.

 

MBUSA considers consumption of up to 2000 miles/quart within spec. If no leaks are detected I would suggest an oil consumption test in addition, inspect cylinders with bore scope to determine condition of cylinder walls.

 

What oil are you running, brand, spec? I've had trouble with oil consumption with Moble 1.

 

Mine would burn a quart every 5k at 130k, but I would get oil changed then anyway.

I use Mobile 1 0w-40.

 

My 2004 E500 was using 2 liters of oil every 10,000 km when I was using Moble 1 0w40. Oil consumption stopped when I switched to Castrol 0w40 A3/B4 with 16,0000 km oil changes.
