Cant get rear hub seated on LCA - Need advice

PO swapped my w211 e320 wagon over to rear coils, but he used the sedan coils and the rear end sags. So, I decided to install proper wagon rear coils.

Here's where I am stuck. I cant get the lower control arm to seat back in its place on the hub I haven't found a way to leverage it back in place. Striking the wheel mating surface of the rotor does nothing to re-seat the LCA.

(see attached pic and the 9:50 mark of this youtube video -
)
At the 9:56 mark of the video, the LAC and hub are magically back together.
Pic is a screen grab from the video, not my car.

I have until the 14th to fix the car, because my son needs it to go back to college out of state.

Have you tried a hydraulic floor jack to push the control arm up?

Yes.

I think I am going to sand down the metal bushing in the LCA until I can get it back in place. Several YT commenters mentioned how difficult this was. One resorted to sanding.

before sanding, use a caliper gauge to measure the length of the bushing vs the space in the control arm.

Have you tried undoing the top arms, attaching the lower arm, and then reattaching the top arms?

I sanded off .5mm or so and it went right back together. Thanks all.
