Sunroof recall on W211

Hi
A friend in a Facebook group notified me of a recall for sunroofs on the W211 model. I rang my local MB dealer and quoted my VIN. He said my car was in the affected range.
So I'll be taking my car to the dealer for a check first, then if need be repairs, which could take up to 3 hours.
Has anyone else done this recall? What exactly is involved?

I took mine in and since there was no problem they were done going over it in less than an hour. Hopefully that's the same for you.

YES. Both of my CDIs were in affected range. I didn't think much about it....until I started hearing a rush of air over my head. Thought maybe sunroof simply wasn't sealing perfectly. Then the next day....WHOOSH....the entire sunroof was GONE! shattered somewhere on the highway behind me. Took to dealer, replaced under recall, and even got the sunroof functionality back which I had lost because of worn guides.

Then being motivated to take the recall seriously, I took the other car in. They inspected and said it was in good condition.

Wow that would of been scary! I will take my car into the MB dealer for a checkup.

Hey all. I took my car to my local Mercedes Benz dealer to get the sunroof checked.
The lady in the service department was most helpful. She noted the VIN and declared my E280 to not be affected. Good news!
