Hi All. Have cracks and torn driver seat that is perforated for air movement under front seats. Until 30 minutes ago I never heard of MB-Tex and wondered if there is a way to find out what the car came with OEM? I've done VIN checks and at 0200 am sitting here pushing brain-fry, Thought I would join, say hi and ask this question. Was going to go back to a BMW 540i 6-spped...no inventory, so I decided to keep the Benz moving along, making it all nice and pretty (eventually)

Welcome! MB-Tex is robust in most models. E-Class seem to have more complaints than others. And the current model GLS/GLE have had ongoing complaints of cracked MB-Tex at low mileage/early age. Generally MB-Tex is a good solution. Which model are you considering?

Am considering using it in W211 - 2004 E320 sedan. Lots of smooth services in the cabin; of course the dealer won't tell me squat. I haven't don't any interior renovations so this is the first time. In fact it was this chat site that first brought MB-Tex to my attention.
I was looking for another 540i 6-speed, but with highly limited inventory, so I'm investing in the Benz with 165,500 miles. Runs very well.

I’d check replacement seats at a salvage yard. BTW, that looks like leather to me. MB Tex is vinyl and has a different appearance. Considering the price of an E class, leather is logical; however, I had a station wagon and it came with MB Tex due to resilience with dropped ice cream cones etc.
