This message is the result of the old analog radio frequency based Mercedes SOS driver emergency system in the vehicle looking for a radio signal, but there is none because Mercedes no longer transmits or receives these. It's similar to GM's "OnStar" Newer MB's have a different digital radio system activated for SOS signals.
MB dealer service, an independent service center or someone with a cloned China MB programmer can shut it off for you with a few keystrokes so keep that in mind when you ask for pricing. Should take way less than an hour, but most mechanics have an hour minimum fee. MB might charge you for a flat rate hour minimum diagnostic fee then another hour minimum to de-program the SOS.

04 e550 4matic - check splitter for corrosion, check module connections located in front center trunk panel. All fine, have someone with MB diagnostics code Teleaid from ‘present’ to ‘not present’: Control Units - Body - CGW (Central Gateway) - Control Unit Adaptations - Read Coding and Change if Necessary - Telecommunications - Telematics Service “TeleAid” in combination with MOST technology…
Did dealer document fault codes on invoice confirming AGW is bad? If so, I believe replacement part # is 2118706989 you can shop used need VIN to confirm. Usually plug & play but any problems after install may need coding (see line 1 AGW attachment).

Yes. My error message was caused by corrosion in the little connector from the rear GPS antenna. It is located in the trunk and water would leak in, run down the wire and get in the connector, corroding it. The connector is on a matchbox sized antenna splitter glued to the fender next to the left trunk arm. The connector unclips weird and I almost broke mine assuming it unclipped opposite the way it looked.
I cleaned up the connection and filled the plug with bulb grease to keep out water. I also attached a piece of tape to divert any water still running down the wire to drip away.
After three years, it came back. I opened it up cleaned it out again, greased it up, and it has been good for two more years.
Good luck with yours,
Peter

Yes. That's it.
Two wires out the bottom and one in the top. I think the red and black connectors release by squeezing at their tips rather than half way back. Or maybe the other way around.
Anyway, water trickled down from above and corroded the connectors. I cleaned mine as well as I could and filled them with "bulbgrease" like you get in a little packet at the checkout counter at a Pep Boys or O'Rileys.
