4 Zone Climate Control - Airflow
I've had the car just over 3 years and in that entire time the airflow on the drivers side (RHD) has been weaker than the passenger side. I had all the known issues checked (filters/blower motors/valves/system pressure) and pretty much had it narrowed down to the blender motors/actuators behind the dash. Because the ac does cool the car and the airflow on the passenger side is normal I decided to leave well enough alone.
However in the last few weeks the windscreen vent on the driver side has started leaking cool air, enough to be causing fog to form on the windscreen and been getting worse in the last few days. Tonight I was driving home and thought I'd put the windscreen vents on and off again in the hope the driver side may close again. To my surprise when I activated the windscreen defroster the drivers side face level vents fully opened and for the first time since I've had the car I had full ventilation on the drivers side. At the same time the drivers windscreen vent fully closed, but on the passenger side the face level vents closed and the windscreen vent opened - as you would expect the setting to do.
Ideally my solution right now would be to set passenger to face level and driver to defrost, but of course defrost locks out the dials that let you select face level vents.
My question, is this confirmation of the blender motors having failed? Or is there possibly something else going on here?
