I have a 2005 E320 CDI which the wipers stopped working. I Checked the fuse which was burnt out, put a new fuse in and the wipers moved up and sat vertical on the window and would not go back down. The wiper motor ended up burning out almost catching fire. I replaced the wiper motor and made sure the linkage or transmission moved freely and am getting almost the same result with the new motor except this one seems to just stay in the parked position. Any ideas on where to check next? Relays or maybe the stalk is bad?

wadabout the wiper relay have you tested or blindly thought a fuse performs the wiper function
