Car: e230 w211 2009 model. (m272 engine)
Location: Dubai - UAE
Repair Done: Faulty TCU was replaced.
Issue: Extreme Fuel Consumption since TCU changed.
Previous Fuel Consumption: 9.5 to 10l/100km on internal roads and 8.3 to 9l/100km on highways
Current Fuel Consumption: 13 to 14l / 100km on internal roads and 11.2l/100km on highways
Overall Difference:

My car average used to be 9.5 to 10l/100km on internal roads and 8.3 to 9l/100km on highways (long signal free drives) (full tank average used to be 550 to 600km internal roads and 650 to 700km on long routes)
Few days back, its gears slipped and problem was found to be a faulty TCU. It has been replaced and issue with gears is fixed now. But since this change, my car average has become 13 to 14l / 100km on internal roads and 11.2l/100km on highways.it doesn't go below 11.2l/100km whatever i do, while when i start the engine, it still shows 10.5l/100km which is increased immediately after i move my car. (full tank average now 400 to 450km internal roads and 500 to 550km on long routes)
When I took the car to this garage, it was showing different codes related to faulty TCU. After this repair, no transmission error shows on scanner.
Mechanic says as we have not touched the engine, only part replaced is TCU which has no relation to fuel consumption. Get your engine checked... (take it to other garage for that as they deal with gear/ transmission parts and repairs only)
Anyone has any tips to bring the fuel consumption back to normal... With rising fuel prices, im in extreme difficulty to use car![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tcb/1/16/1f641.png)
