Brake Controller Failure?

Any ideas on troubleshooting process? Car has 260K on it. Thanks!

Thanks

If you clear the code, it will come right back on poweron - the code is set when the SBC reads its internal counter and its > 25k or whatever the actual value was (don't exactly remember). But there is no reason to clear it if you see it - that code is your free ticket to a new SBC unit.
On the user display it will show you what you are seeing BUT it can also be from any other SBC error. It can also be the front battery is bad (there is a battery under the air filter, passenger side of engine compartment) If you are not comfortable doing the diagnose then take it to the dealer. If C2490F is in the unit, it will be a covered repair and replacing the unit will cost nothing.
If they upsell you a brake fluid flush - pay it. Its not covered by the warranty. Most non-MB shops and most DYI's don't do it correctly. Needs positive pressure setup and you follow the star while it cycles the sbc pump as you do each wheel - its a controlled process. Takes about 2L of new fluid.
This is also an excellent time to look at all of the brake lines and hoses and replace those that have cracks in the outer rubber.

I was notified on Instagram that not all MB dealers worldwide act in the same way. I created a post about SBC failure and luckily it gained traction. You can see some reactions over there:
I was lucky enough that my local dealer also flushed the brake system for free when they replaced my SBC unit.
Seems like they have done the brake fluid flush. I posted in the other thread. Please take a look guys
