door handle nuttery

I bought a replacement outer door handle to replace my scratched up one and I started to install it however it seems like a nightmare. I have read other posts and they just remove the mounting screw and remove. however mine is nowhere as easy as that. I have to take the panel out and take out the locking mechanic ism off but i still don't see how it comes out. Any help?????

It's a single screw and it slides out, if it takes more than 3 minutes you're doing it wrong. Have you searched the interwebs at all? Search "w211 door handle install" brings up about 5 videos on how to do it. This is the first one and this is how it's done.

Rear or front door? I removed the front door handle from the 2008 W211, and it was a single screw. A bit of shake and stir for the handle to unstick from the door, but there is no need to even take the panels downs. Even less the locking mechanism.

Thanks for your help. What a mess. The hole behind the seal was sooo small that i almost couldn't see it let alone the t 20 torx screw. I never saw anything like this. Every other video i have seen had a very viable hole for the torx screw. Thanks again for your help!!!!
