08 E350 gear locked

Gear locked in P. After manually reset the override button, the car is drivable buck stuck in 1st gear. Battery is good. Scanned and found 1405 ECU cannot communicate with TCU over CAN bus. Dashboard show "ABS, ESP inoperative" Has anyone ever had this problem?

On a 5-speed it's located under the passenger footwell floor (pull the carpet etc.) and on a 7-speed inside the transmission.

722.9 module is inside transmission (4matic = 722.6).

Mine is not 4Matic. It's not under the glovebox. It must be inside the transmission, module 722.9

this is like a handfull of errors: ECU/TCU + ABS/ESP... you should really have a code for the ESP fault !!!
The fact you don't hints that your scanner is limited. 😳

Tranny CAN is disrupted. Physically check the wiring harness under the car near cats etc... Other modules share the same CAN as well. You need a better scanner to get the whole picture.

The gear selector module may be requesting attention. Do you park on hills such as inclined home driveway every day?

This bunch of trouble is definitely *not* time for the $8k rebuilt tranny job.
🤞

My scanner is Foxwell NT510 Elite for Mercedes. It works really for my other MB model 1013. Maybe there are also problem with ECU, that's it cannot read all error code. No I don't part on hills or inclined driveway. Oh wow, the tranny job is around 8K?
