Where to buy tire chains for E320?

Hello,

After last winter we concluded we need chains for our two rear wheel drive E320's, here are the sizes:

2003 size: 245/45 R17 95W
2002 size: 235/45 R17 94W

We'd like chains that are easy on/off and grip well. Any recommendations? I tried searching the sponsor here but couldn't locate chains.

Thanks!
-Tom

Tire chains?

Hi Tom, long time and no reply to my own post.

Maybe http://www.spike-spider.com/ could be used?

Good question, I emailed them and they never replied, perhaps they don't know if E320's work with their chains?

I bought RUD tire chains for my 300E and to the extent that one can enjoy putting on tire chains, these are almost enjoyable to use. There's a hoop-shaped stiffener that you place over the tire, drive 1 foot forward and thread one strand of chain through a couple of rings and hook it.

I bought mine at my dealer, but I think you can find some of the RUD ones at tirechains.com

Snow chains for occasional ski trip to Tahoe

We do the occasional 3-4 days/yearly of skiing in the Sierras/Lake Tahoe area.

Has anyone experience ( without issue) with using tire chains or cables on the standard E class staggered set up, rear tire of 265/35/18?
